I've pre-ordered it. Usually the only games I pre-order are the Fallout ones, but I've enjoyed ME2 so much that I just had to.

I have the feeling my back is going to be screeching due to my sitting in the chair all next week.

This isn't the 18th century, they have lazyboys and davenports nowadays :blackeye:

Never played a mass effect b4. They any good?

I never really cared for any of the aliens except for Wrexx and Grunt, they are like some weird mixture of old Norse culture and turtles.

Also the whole sci-fi universe is really well built, it doesn't feel over the top and just pasted on because it looks cool, a LOT of effort has been put into it.

I'm about 20 hours in, and it's not bad.

I'm very pissed about Mordin, though

I'm pissed about Bioware. Seriously. Rant:

I preordered a physical copy of ME3 from Amazon and got it last week. So I popped in the first DVD to install. First annoyance: I had to install Origin and create an account. Fuck this shit. Turns out my e-mail adress was already registered for some reason I forgot. Oh right, it was for Battlefield Heroes. So I had to reset my password. Second annoyance: this is taking ages. Seriously, extracting and copying shit shouldn't take this long on a decent system, even if it fills two DVDs. After two hours (srsly), Origin asks me to insert the second disk which brings us directly to Annoyance the third (same as the first): I pop in disc 2 and it doesn't fucking recognize it. Seriously. I tried everything. After two hours it gives me this shit. Well, I thought, I've got this Origin thingie so let's try to download this shit. So, cringingly, I press cancel. And now ladies and Gentlemen, the moment you've all been waiting for: Jack Rabbit Slim's Fourth Annoyance! Nothing happens, Origin freezes completely. I kill it via Task Manager and restart. I'm not sure if it worked right then or if I had to reboot first, I lost track of the times Origin just wouldn't start before I did a reboot. First positive surprise: I started the download and it picked right up where the disk install stopped, I think it was at about 80%. I made the mistake to have a glimpse of hope that this percentage was some kind of indicator of progress and that I could play my game soon. Without further ado, I give you the fifth annoyance: it took another hour to finish the last one percent.
But then it was finished. Finally. I was willing to forgive all these annoyances and prepared myself to ENJOY THE SHIT out of this motherfucker. Oh the joy of importing and revisiting my ME2 character that I had already imported from ME1 and... wait... something's wrong. Let me present to you FUCKMOTHERSHITTINGCUNTBALLS, also known as Annoyance number three. Seven. Er... Six? Doesn't work, of course. So I look for my ME2 saves and they had disappeared. I thought I had them backed up but I somehow lost them. Probably my fault but I blame BioWare, anyway. They probably hacked into my computer and deleted them just to spit in my face. I found a save folder from Mass Effect 1 but ME2 was nowhere in sight. Great. So, what to do? I remembered ME2 as a pretty cool game and decided to import my ME character and play it again so I could then import my character to ME3. Problem is, let's say I played a borrowed version of ME2 back then. So, in spite of my previoys experiences with Origin, I bought a ME2 key on ebay for 10 bucks or something. And waited for the whole 16 GB (wtf) to download, though the download actually went faster than the ME3 installation. So then I started up ME2 and tried to import my ME1 character... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. I did have the save folder but no actual savegames where in there, just some profile or some shit. Great. But hell no, I won't play elevator simulater 1, too, no way. So I looked online and found a site with ME1 savegames. Found one that mirrored my choices and imported that one. Then I tried to recreate my character's face but didn't really succeed... her nose is too big but it's close enough, I guess. So I plunged into the game but felt something was missing... let's get right on to annoyance number 11! The whole cerberus network shit wasn't included. Of course. So I went online and bought that, too. And, while I was at it, I bought all the other DLC. And downloaded the shitload of Gigabytes. During that, my browser decided to freeze several times. I had to kill it and redownload so often I lost count. I found out a couple of hours later that it works better when I download it to a different hard disc. Well, whatever. FINALLY I had everything and started installing the DLCs. The installers were incredibly slow, too. These things are basically zip archives and all it does is extract and copy them. Afterwards I tried it manually and extracting took like one minute while the installer needed thirty. All went well until I installed the shadow broker DLC. Which brings us to annoyance 22! Not only did it take 90 minutes to install, it also did something to my system. Nothing worked anymore and I had to reboot. Then I tried to start the game and the MassEffect2.exe was corrupted. Great, something went wrong. I tried extracting the DLC-Installer .exe and copy over the game-exe but it only crashed then. So I tried installing it again and it went a little faster this time. MassEffect2.exe looked okay this time around but some files in the binaries directory just vanished. Including the configuration exe. Huh. Well, whatever. After rebooting (the installer fucked up my system again) I try to start the game aaaaaaaand the winner is: annoyance number 1000! It asks me for a fucking disk. I DON'T HAVE A FUCKING DISK, BIOWARE. FUCK YOU!
So I actually have to use a cracked exe for a game I bought. Works now, though. I wouldn't be surprised if some of the DLC won't work. Let's see how it goes. Next time I'll just pirate and save me the hassle. SEE WHAT YOU DID, BIOWARE?

You have not yet begun to get pissed.

I think of Mordin, and the ending, I then start getting pissed all over again.

What, does he die or something? Wait, don't tell me. Too bad, he's one of my favourite video game characters. I hear they changed the voice actor. :look: I don't like it. Is it very noticable? It is, isn't it?

Play the game.

I couldn't detect any noticeable difference in his voice.

I guess it's hard to write a good ending for a game. Endings often suck ass. But what the heck.
So I just reinstalled Mass Effect 2. Now before I install all the DLC I'll make a backup of the game folder. I'm not in the mood to redownload the whole thing again. Here's hoping my saves still work... otherwise I'll call Bioware and tell them they are fucking cocksuckers and that I'll wait for Wasteland 2 instead of playing their piece of shit games. That'll show 'em.

I don't even care anymore. I sort of hated everything that happened after the earth battle started. I hate that I can't even resell the game.
